The waste land

Today in class we discussed the ambulance drivers and the poem The Wast Land by Eliot, followed by a very lively and fun discussion which I always enjoy. I actually didn't like the poem that much. Although I can appreciate Eliot vast knowledge on millions of subjects, I'm still not sure why he made so difficult for people to understand his point. After Dr. A/C explained the last part, I did almost like the end of the poem but it's so very difficult to grasp.

Tuskegee Airmen

On Thursday afternoon I had a chance to go see the movie and I'm very glad I did. This is a fantastic film, showcasing the courage, perseverance of a group of African American during the war and all the obstacles and discrimination they had to go through to make it as great pilots. I'm really looking forward hearing Mr. Calvin Spann speak on Tuesday

intro

Hello everybody,
My name is Maria, I was born in Italy and moved to the US in 1992. Before moving to TX, I lived in FL,MO and KS. Now I live in Frisco with my son Zane. He is five years old and the LOVE of my life!!  I'm the only one of my family to live here in the US but I go to visit them every summer. I love to cook, eat and food in general. I decided to go back to school after so many years because I've always wanted to get a degree but never got the courage to do it and I'm hoping to better my life and Zane's.
I'm looking forward to a great semester!

slavery

even if I saw different movies on slavery and studied it in school ( some time ago ),it is still a very tough subject for me. I can't help feeling terrible for the way african were treated . All those little children suffering and the agony and desperation of the parents no being able to fully protect their children.....such a tragedy.
